Paxton’s Foul Weather Policy
The services we offer are inherently dangerous on a calm, sunny day. Add wet, foul weather to the equation, and that multiplies the dangers for our owner and employees.
We take pride in offering top-notch service to you, our customers. While at the same time providing a safe work environment to our employees.
It is the policy of Paxton Chimney Sweep & Repair to remain open during most weather conditions; however, we reserve the right to suspend any and all appointments and/or services due to weather conditions at any time.
This includes, but is not limited to:
- Wet Weather
- Excessive Heat
- Strong Winds
- Cold Temperatures
- Low Visibility
In the upper midwest, we typically have a wide variety of weather patterns.
During the summer, your roof is typically 50 degrees hotter than the outdoor temperature. Our technicians can burn their hands, or damage your roof.
Rain, wind, and dew are very common and can be very dangerous for our technicians. Strong winds can blow a ladder over, or cause a tech to fall. Wet or damp roofs can cause our technicians to lose their footing and slip and fall off the roof.
Snow and ice are just as dangerous. Our company policy does not allow any technicians to walk a roof when there is snow or ice on it.
Unfortunately, our climate makes it very challenging to keep our appointments on a daily basis.
We understand that canceling your appointment is an inconvenience to you. Missing a full day’s worth of appointments and rescheduling affects our company and techs as well.
Our Obligation to Our Employees
As a company, we have a legal & ethical obligation to keep everyone safe at all times when working. Our company policy states that Workers’ Safety is Priority #1.
Rescheduling & Closings
At any time, we reserve the right to reschedule your appointment due to changing weather conditions. We will contact you via text, phone, or email to notify you that your appointment will be rescheduled.
Periodically throughout the year, we may have to close or reschedule appointments due to unforeseen circumstances, with little notice. We will reach out to you and reschedule your appointment as soon as we can.
